Publication Designer | August 2020 – December 2020

Read an authoritative, well-renowned book on typography, Robert Bringhurst’s The Elements of Typographic Style. Took extensive notes from the reading that became the text for a booklet. Laid out and typeset the entirety of the 60 pages of the booklet. Designed the interior and illustrated the cover. Formatted for digital and print publication. Developed in order to teach other students the core principles and foundations of typography learned in class from discussions and readings in a comprehensible form.

Resume Design | October 2020

Consulted with other students and gave feedback to improve resume design skills. Designed a resume for a peer. Advanced skills in communication through giving feedback while also receiving and applying feedback and constructive criticism to my own work. Contributed to class discussions and participated in critiques on layout and typesetting.

Booklet Layout | November 2019 – December 2019

Formatted, laid out, and prepped files to design a process booklet for print. Worked through design problems to accomplish a favorable layout, such as working in the correct file size at 300 dpi resolution and making sure that files were set in cmyk for printing.
